Been Busy
Eeeeh - last post was on 1/31…wow. I honestly haven’t really had the thought to post. A major contributor to this is the fact that I have moved into .NET development officially as of three weeks ago. With this move, motivation and the craving information has come along with it, so my work days are more or less all .NET as opposed to my last gig which was a sea of idle time towards the end.
The current “fun” activity which is going smoother than expected is getting liability insurance for when I shoot my first wedding in June. I have to itemize all my photo gear and put a dollar amount on it, along with serial numbers and such - not terribly fun, but very necessary. This way, if anyone feels the need to snag my entire camera bag (and get away with it), I’ll be covered. Even with this insurance, it still terrifies me to think of someone actually taking my bag o’ goodies.
I also landed another gig without much effort next Sunday. It is a friend of C’s, so I’m doing it on the cheap - but with the money I decided to snag a BG-E3. A what?!? A battery grip for my camera - I can hold 2 batteries and it makes the camera a bit more manageable. Granted, the camera is still small, but this adds more bulk to it, which rocks. It should be at our place by tomorrow..and on my camera, soon thereafter.
We also pulled the trigger on possibly the most kickass plane tickets ever - 2 round trip tickets to Tokyo Japan. We head out in November for two weeks. There is a slight chance I could own my dream telephoto by then…but I’ve resorted to the fact that buying that lens may be a ways off…maybe…I think…I want it!
I’ve been messing around with Adobe Lightroom a bit this weekend - very nice. I like having all my pictures in one place. I’m not a fan of the CPU usage Lightroom shows, but what can you do. It’s a fun app all the same…
So, .NET, insurance, battery grip, Tokyo trip, Lightroom - got all that? Sweet! Off I go (I’ll try to write more, but can’t promise anything)
