Site Slow?

I’ve been told by 3 people now that my site is slow. This is encouraging because it means that people are actually looking at the crap I throw up there. It is discouraging because it is indeed a slow site. I have looked at Serendipity’s forum and I have “hidden” some sidebar plugins (including my favorite which displays stuff from my gallery). I’m working on trying to make the site quicker and there are a few plugins that have been developed to do so. A drawback to one of them is it eliminates dynamic content, not that I have a ton.

I’m also looking at Wordpress, and optimizing my CSS

The Rebellion Continues…

I. Love. This. Camera.

I think this past weekend about 200 photos were snapped w/my new Rebel XT I’ve come to the conclusion that this camera refuses to take bad pictures. Granted, many of my photos are now deleted as many were just f-stop or shutter adjustments. The fact that you can set the ISO to 800 and not see a ton of noise is fantastic. I haven’t messed with ISO as much as aperture and shutter.

Given the rebate thing canon has going, I ordered a macro lens yesterday. It isn’t’ the best macro lens, as the Min. Focusing is about 0.8ft, but for the price it has been said to be a great lens for both macro and portrait. I wouldn’t mind the 100mm USM macro..but…I also wouldn’t mind an Enzo Ferrari -P. I also picked up a cheap Canon wireless remote for $25 or so (Rowe had a wireless remote for $600 - pssh!). Sadly, I had to snag a filter set, but got a good deal.

Keep checking the Gallery for updated images. I added a gallery this morning and plan on dumping random shots up there. As my friend and I have been discussing, posting using my deviantart account is kinda painful - and the site seems to be slowing down due to increased traffic -(. Ah well.

I’ve looked into flickr as well, but the 20mb per month upload qouta is….eh.

Ok, must go medicate to rid myself of evil cold. I plan on taking some long exposures of my gas burners on my stove. I took a few w/my S60, but the noise was bugging me. So i’ll reattempt with the Rebel -D.

Bye Bye Holidays

Well, I had an entry up about xmas, but…I went to a different page like a dumbass and the entry is now gone…

And then I did it again…

So, holidays are over everything is back to normal. I put up a gallery of Xmas stuff.

Folks love the theater - Onkyo HT-S780 and I’m very glad I got it for them -).

Ok, before I click a link and wipe this entry out, I’m just gonna save it -)

it’s on its way-D

I See Dead Turkeys

And so another Thanksgiving cometh and goeth. Overall, it was fun, and the four days off were much needed. The Monday after the four days off is another story, however. I’ll just do a day-by-day for all of my (2…3…?) eager readers…

Wednesday Evening

This is typically reserved for getting wasted and driving home impaired. Not for me - headed to Neeti’s and Dan’s for Dan’s 26th BDay. Fun was had by all. I started to crash around 8ish (I’m such an oldman -(). So we took off and proceeded to passout.

Thursday - Black Friday Eve

So the big day of football, turkey and napping rolled around finally. Got back to my 1bdrm closet and had a good 3hrs of doing nothing before venturing to Fairport/Pittsford/whateverthehellitis for T-Day at my Aunts. Got to see the my small family. My youngest cousin was up from NYC which rocked. Like every year, we all got full on crackers and cheese then proceeded to overeat at the main event. I took a few pics which I’ll probably put up (hopefully) soon. Neeti just uploaded about a billion pics to her gallery so I think it is time I upload a ton myself -).

I hung out @ my aunts till 7ish then headed to Candace’s folks house for more relaxing…overall, nothing terribly exciting (which was very nice).

Black Friday…

I really wanted to get up at 5am and go where all the crazies go…alas, I slept till about 9am..and loved it. We did decide to do a bit of shopping around Webster - land of the idiots. I’ve been meaning to put together a “why this suburb annoys me” category…Basically, I heart downtown. I didn’t really buy much. Finally got a digi-thermostat. Got it installed and programmed - no more dial turnin! FTW!!!!one. We headed to Jim’s stunning city house. He and his wife bought a mansion (basically..it’s huge). They did alot in the 4months or so and it was all well done. Again…to reiterate..I want that couch -D.

Saturday

It had finally come…”Nutcracker Day”. I told Candace I’d go and she even bought my ticket :aww: ;-). We met up with George, Leianna (sp?), Dan and Neeti for a night at the Eastman Theatre (which is very impressive). I was told by my cousin on Thursday that “that is so gay” when I told her I was going and that “I am whipped” lol. It actually wasn’t that bad - a sign that I am actually cultured *shiver*. We hit up the Old Toad for drinks - apparently everyone and their mothers were doing the same - very crowded bar…with a hint of body-odor - YUM! I couldn’t complain - Heinekin was $2.75..a tasty beer.

Sunday

The day of rest..and that is what we did…Bills blew it, Breaking Bonaduce concluded (cry) and Intervention (A&E) will cause instant depression (powerful show)

Here’s to another Thanksgiving, and I still miss you Ricky…

My best friend for 20+yrs leaves for Iraq on Thursday and I am NOT happy about it…Give em hell Phil!

Pics from Hawaii are (finally) up

Well, now that I have a domain, I can put a ton o’ images on it -). So, I finally posted the trip I took with Candace (and stayed w/her fam) to Hawaii, one of the coolest places to go…and I only had to pay for the plane ticket (woo!). That is all…it is time to drink wine and finish…sigh…Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Tomorrow we’re prolly seeing the 3457967th Harry Potter flick
